I'm Ian de Jong, a passionate filmmaker and recording engineer specialized in classical and acoustic music videos. My work is driven by a love for both music and cinema, combining these two art forms to produce high-quality, engaging recordings that tell a story. And as a professional freelance musician, I personally understand the importance of having high-impact, professional content that is tailored to a target audience. Whether you're an emerging artist or established musician, I can help bring your music to life with compelling visuals, with everything from full concert recordings to promotional content, documentaries, and after-movies.
My Background:
I'm a classically trained, Dutch-American violinist and violist (Rotterdam Codarts Conservatory, Amsterdam Conservatory, and Chicago's DePaul University School of Music). I've always been interested in expanding my art-form beyond just classical performance, experimenting with different styles of music and visual design. As long as I can remember, I've been captivated by beautiful, cinematic renditions of classical and acoustic music, with a keen appreciation for the skill required to do sonic and visual justice to great performances.
In 2020, when the possibilities for live performance were severely limited, I immersed myself in the art of sound and video recording, and I invested in the professional microphones, cameras and other equipment required to document the music of talented artists. My goal is to help you tell your musical story to its fullest, and I look forward to working with you from first concept to final cut of your project.
